Nobody minds their own business, and everyone is keen to offer you their advice, especially in the early years of your business. In my experience lots of this advice can be vary from ‘useful’ to ‘very dangerous’. Its really important that you take as much advice as you can but be very aware of the skills and experience level of the person handing out.  I spend a lot of time helping people on internet small business forums and you will be amazed at some of the advice that people hand out sold as “fact” when in reality it is just their opinion. Getting good quality is advice is key to making less mistakes and improving your chances in this current economy so you shouldn't be put off using small business forums and the like, but please think about the direction people are suggesting.

Yup agree about taking as much advice as you can. Then weigh them which is applicable to your business. It makes sense though, two heads are better than one.

Nice insights. What I believe is that one must act as a filter. Listen to everybody but do what you believe is good for your business. Not two businesses face similar situation and thereby the solution that has worked for one may or may not work for the other. After all who else than you can be the best judge?
